106640 – ACCESSING SPECIALIST RESPIRATORY SERVICES FOR COPD PATIENTS IN PRIMARY HEALTHCARE

Audit Aim

This audit aims to support Australian GPs in a systematic approach to improve access to specialist respiratory services for COPD patients diagnosed with moderate to severe disease severity.

Why take part in this audit?

COPD represents an important public health challenge nationally, affecting approximately 10.8% of Australians. However, COPD disease prevalence and severity can often be underestimated.  This audit aims to support Australian GPs in a systematic approach to improve access to specialist respiratory services for COPD patients diagnosed with moderate to severe disease severity.  Simplifying the pathway to specialist services increases patient safety and care of both existing and future COPD patients.

Patients with COPD

How long should it take?

The audit has been designed to take approximately 12 weeks to complete. This includes patient recall from your practice, patient consult and audit evaluation. Once completed you will receive 40 Category 1 CPD Points
