7. How do the Zephyr Valves work?

  • On March 1, 2023
  • If you have severe COPD/emphysema you may struggle to catch your breath while doing everyday tasks. This is because the damaged parts of your lungs have lost their ability to release air when you breathe out, resulting in trapped air.  As a result, the lungs become overinflated (also known as hyperinflated). Zephyr Valves are tiny, one-way valves that work by preventing air from getting trapped in diseased sections of the lung, so the healthier parts of the lung and diaphragm can function better.  This helps you to breath better and do more.
